Tiffanys in Zambia

Dear Friends and Family,

We just returned from the most amazing week of Camp Life in Zambia with Family Legacy! Thank you so much to those who supported Maddie and Cate financially as well as those who prayed for every aspect of the trip. It was truly a life-changing experience, and we are so grateful that the Lord provided the means for us to be able to go. Each member of our family had a group of 9 children, and we spent the week at Camp Life learning Scripture, singing, dancing, playing games, playing on the playground, and loving them in ways they often do not receive at home. There were so many hard situations and life struggles, but the joy these children exhibited when being able to sing and dance and play with toys they’ve never seen before was amazing. These children have so little in the eyes of the world but were so grateful for even a slice of bread or a push on the swings or a new bandana to wear. So many started the week uncertain and afraid, and the transformation that occurred in just a day or two was unbelievable and no doubt a result of the Lord working in their lives. Matthew 25:40 says, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Although these precious children have so little in terms of money and resources, they were able to see how rich they could be by following Jesus.

Family Legacy has 18 schools serving over 10,000 children in various communities in Lusaka, Zambia. If children struggle in school and are unable to finish schooling, they are also taught various trades including sewing, baking, carpentry, and welding so that no child is left behind.

We learned so much from them in one short week and have returned with a burning desire to give these children the things they need most. Below you will see each of the children we grew to love during camp. All of these children are in need of sponsors, and there is absolutely no pressure to sponsor a child, but if you feel moved to do so, please click on the links and choose a child to sponsor! Remaining children needing sponsors are listed. We personally know and love each of these children, and they will forever be a part of our lives. Even if you do not feel led to sponsor, please click on the links below to see the children and read a little bit about them. We would love for you to pray for these children, that they will all receive sponsors, and that the great work of Family Legacy will continue as they work to serve thousands of children in Zambia.

Sponsorship of a child is just $55/month and provides a child with needed health services, food, clothing, education (both academic and spiritual) and emotional support (which is highly necessary due to trauma that many of these children have experienced). It also allows you to send letters & pictures to your child via email and they are able to send letters to you as well. The very personal aspect of sponsorship through Family Legacy is something we were able to see firsthand in Zambia, and what a day of rejoicing it is when these children are able to jump into to arms of their sponsors or be given an actual letter brought by their sponsor’s friend or family member to Camp Life. These children will never ever forget you!
